Sharon Sinclair is an award-winning British screenwriter and playwright known for her engaging storytelling on both screen and stage. With early roots in dance and drama, she began her creative career as a television critic for a local newspaper, honing her understanding of narrative and audience engagement. This multidisciplinary foundation has given her a unique perspective on crafting compelling stories.
Sharon later expanded into screenwriting and production, creating original film and TV projects that showcase her versatile talent. She wrote, produced, and starred in the comedy series pilot Beside The Sea, which earned international acclaim by winning the Best Series Pilot award at the Out Of the Can International Film Festival in 2022. Her screen portfolio also includes the short thriller Tick Tock and involvement in the independent feature The Renata Road, underscoring her versatility both behind and in front of the camera. Her work has garnered multiple festival selections and accolades, establishing her reputation as a serious writing talent.
In theatre, Sharon has demonstrated equal passion and success. Her original stage comedy Fracking Grannies – an Arts Council-funded production – enjoyed a successful run in Blackpool, even being described as a ‘runaway success’. Through her production company, Blackpool Belle Productions, she continues to champion narratives that capture the heart, humour and resilience of Northern life. Sharon remains dedicated to creating meaningful stories for stage and screen, and is currently developing new work (including Ice Cream On The Beach) that reflects her commitment to authentic, relatable storytelling.
