Sarah is originally from Champaign, Illinois and coming from a family of Archaeologists her work is often fused with rich history and culture from around the world. She spent almost a year living in Aleppo, Syria as a young teenager.
In 2023, Sarah wrote four episodes for Season One of “Lellobee City Farm: Grandma Mei’s Fantastic Folk Tales” with Moonbug Productions and produced by Audible. She also wrote an 8-part audio series for Violet Hour Media called “Long Night in Egypt” which was distributed by Realm on all podcast channels. She is currently turning this one into a feature film.
In 2017, Sarah’s play “Full Tilt” was in the Top 100 for the Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting, one of five finalists for the Papatango New Writing Prize 2016, and one of 11 finalists for the Bread & Roses Theatre Award. Previously, the play had a staged reading at Theatricum Botanicum in Topanga Canyon, LA, as a part of their Botanicum Seedlings series in 2015.
In 2015, her one-act play, “Bird”, had a three-month run in New York as part of Theatre Three’s 18th Annual Festival of One-Act Plays (2015). Before that, in 2014, she was the winner of The Arena Stage’s ‘Our War’ Monologue Competition, which was presented as part of the National Civil War Project in Washington D.C. Her radio play, Plus One, was the winner of ‘The Actors’ Guild UK’s Write Bites competition in 2013 and was recorded by Wireless Theatre Company in 2015.
Sarah’s plays, The Inappropriateness of Love and Freedom, Books, Flowers,
and The Moon was performed in London in 2012 with Paradigm Theatre Company. She has also worked with and had short plays produced with Eagle and Beaver Ensemble, The Pensive Federation and Origins Theatre in the UK, and the Claremorris Theatre Festival in Ireland.
Currently, Sarah’s short film Not Love is in pre-production and is being directed and produced by Nicholas Pinnock (Top Boy, Fortitude, Marcella). She is developing a historical drama, “The Last King of Jerusalem”, and is working on a number of films, as well as a horror musical for the stage.
Sarah holds an MA in Writing for Stage and Broadcast Media from The Central School of Speech and Drama (CSSD).
