Biography

Paula’s written plays for theatre companies and spaces around the country. Her play, WHAT’S LOST, won the Alfred Fagon Award, MONDAY was shortlisted for the John Whiting and FOUR DECADES was a finalist for the 2021 Women’s Prize for Playwriting. She’s been a writer on attachment at Soho Theatre & the NT Studio, part of the 2016 Drama Room at BBC Writersroom 2016 and Screen Yorkshire’s Flex 2 Talent Lab 2022. She’s part of the writers’ room at Stockroom Productions. Recent work includes: MESSIAH, co-written with Jesse Briton, WINDRUSH GIRL – a child’s story for Prime Theatre. NIGHT SHIFT for the multi-award-winning Zoo Co Theatre 2023. DISSONANCE for NEW ’24, Paines Plough & RWCMD (Bute Theatre and Young Vic). TRACKS for New Light Theater Project, (Pendragon Theater and 59E59, NYC, 2024). She is the 2023–24 Roland Rees Bursary Recipient.
