Natalie is an award-winning writer and actor, and BAFTA Scotland member. She studied screenwriting at National Film & Television School and has her MA Performance from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
After dreaming up content in the storyroom at BBC’s River City in 2022, Natalie now writes for the soap. Her short film script Make Me A King about a Jewish drag king won the Pears Short Film Fund 2021 with UKJF, as well as Best Script at Image Nation Montreal and she is currently penning the feature, based on the short, for Unleyek Ltd. Natalie is one of half of the writing team for Scottish Opera’s new family musical for 2024. Her original historical thriller TV series, Queen of Magic, won best pitch at Inside Pictures with MGM and Caviar TV execs in Jan 2023, she was shortlisted for the Alpine Fellowship 2020 Award for Writing with Ordinary Day and won the 2020 John Byrne Award for Community and Society with Sumbridge Drive.
As a professional actress, Natalie has worked extensively in the UK for large houses like the Royal Lyceum Theatre and National Theatre Scotland, on award-winning shows like Zinnie Harris’ adaptation of Rhinoceros. Her one-woman comedy shows toured the world and she can be seen as Siobhan in BAFTA-nominated Only You and more recently in Apple TV’s Hijack.
While focused on current affairs and contemporary themes, Natalie’s work is often inspired by historical characters, forgotten legends and silenced heroines she has unearthed in the dusty corners of old books.
