Biography

David Lemberg is an actor, producer, writer and entrepreneur. He commissions and collaborates with fellow artists and makers to realise a wide portfolio of stage, screen, and audio productions. As well as his acting credits over ten years, including screen roles in Shameless (Channel 4), Blood & Bone China web series (2012), The Seasoning House (2012), his most recent work includes co-writing (with Jeremy Stockwell) the award-winning short film The Overcoat (2020, Whittaker Lemberg Productions). The film received a clutch of awards from European and American festivals, including awards for Best Short Film, Best Experimental Film, and Best Dramatic film. David also co-wrote (with Dr Bill Jeffries) the stage play Banksters, which garnered audience and critical acclaim for its London run (2012) The projects he has most recently commissioned include a musical album (Octavia Freud by Martin Andrew/Octavia) and a theatrical Shakespeare-inspired club night (for Modern Art Oxford, March 2024), both of which will develop and support the stage and film versions of his play Mancbeth – a modern
Northern clubland take on Shakespeare’s Macbeth – currently seeking funding and investment. To promote awareness of Putin’s war in Ukraine, David commissioned Jeremy Stockwell to write a novella, The New Overcoat, for which he is currently seeking publication.

David is currently co-writing (with Ian Winterton) a screen drama, American Sports. He is also writing a stage play, Pinter in Love, which will combine his solo acting and writing skills. This production launches in 2024.
