R. David Becker is a published writer, producer and life coach who started his career as an entertainment lawyer advising prominent people in the sports, music and media industry. However, a creative at heart, he soon found his passion in writing for the screen. The bug bit, and he could not stop.
His PAGE-award winning feature script, The Cellist of Sarajevo, based on the incredible true story of renowned cellist Vedran Smailovic, has been optioned and is in pre-production. His follow-up, The Road to Painted Hills, a soulful drama set against the rugged, time-worn foothills of Central Oregon, won Best Screenplay at the Global Film Festival Awards in November 2024 and Grand Jury Prize for Best Feature Screenplay at the American Filmatic Arts Awards in February 2025.
