Biography

Carley has more than 25 years experience in Television, Film and Theatre from performing to production.
An emerging producer and writer based in the North East, Carley is committed to Northern stories and voices. She is professionally trained in Drama having written, produced, directed and performed on theatre stages across the North.
Carley has 10 years production experience as a Script Supervisor, working for companies such as; Paramount Pictures (Mission: Impossible), World Productions (Malpractice), Mammoth Screen (Mcdonald & Dodds), Chalkboard TV (Cold Call), Clapperboard (Madame Blanc), BBC (Eastenders), ITV (Emmerdale), Apple TV (Slow Horses), Amazon Prime (The Feed), Tiger Aspect (The Other One) and Company Pictures (Inspector (George Gently). Founder of production company Canny Northern Media, Carley has produced Short films that have been nominated for RTS awards, has been on the judging panel at RTS NE & Borders, a HETV chosen 50, a Network Delegate and was awarded The University of Sunderland Alumni Achiever of the Year Award in 2020.
Carley was recently commissioned to write Sisterhood The Musical, that is being produced at the Sunderland Empire in collaboration with a charity for vulnerable young girls. Sisterhood is a fully female inclusive cast and crew and the project aims to give girls from low socio-economic backgrounds the opportunity to access theatre in a professional capacity and promotes diversity for women through education. The musical aims to make the West End. Carley has also written ‘Madness’ a North East based musical dramedy hybrid but her focus at present is her 5-part TV Drama script ‘Safeguard’.
