Mikael Syren is a well-known Swedish director and screenwriter in film, radio and theatre.
He has directed and/or written more than a hundred TV episodes, two feature films, several plays and some 200 radio programmes. Mikael has mainly worked in comedy and feelgood genre, but was also involved in rebooting and modernizing the popular Beck detective series as well as writing several Beck films.
He has written children’s series (Barna Hedenhös) and is currently writing an animated children’s film for cinema.
He has been the main writer of several TV series and head of writers’ room and other writers. At Kvarteret Skatan, Hotell Gyllene Knorren (Christmas calendar) and Sommaren med Släkten, he was a conceptual director.
