Alex Quaid lives with their partner in the northwest of England in an isolated stone farmhouse very similar to that described in their first novel, The Semi-Detached Women. They have a few acres on which they grow vegetables and fruit, and list their hobbies as ‘shepherd and part-time gosling protector’.
