She was selected for Screen Ireland’s prestigious Advanced Producer Post Grad and Screen Ireland’s Mentee Scheme where she was paired with mentor Paul Mayeda Berges (Bend it like Beckham). Katie was the Script Coordinator on MGM/ Netflix’s Vikings:Valhalla for three seasons including Writers Rooms working directly for Showrunner Jeb Stuart (Die Hard), and Script Coordinator for Season 2 of the Belgian/Irish co-pro crime series Hidden and Shadow Writer on Season 3 led by Peter McKenna (Gangs of London).
Katie’s first feature screenplay reached the Top 50 scripts in The Academy Nicholls screenplay competition out of nearly 6000 entries. Her second screenplay a political action comedy ‘Banana Wars’ also placed in the Academy Nicholls as a Quarter-Finalist. From this, Katie was invited to a Screenwriting Panel with The Academy.
In June 2024 Katie was one of 12 filmmakers across Europe selected to represent Screen Ireland, Ardán and the National Talent Academy at the Screen Talent Europe Pitching Forum in Grimstad, Norway.
In July 2024 Katie was a scholarship recipient and Screen Ireland Bursary Awardee to attend the Rocaberti Writers Retreat in France, working with mentors Judi Levine (How to Please a Woman) Martin Olson (Phineas and Ferb) and Stan Zimmerman (Gilmore Girls, The Golden Girls) Katie is currently working with Judi Levine on an upcoming project as a writer.
Katie has multiple scripts and projects in development; some of which have placed as a Finalist in the Boyne Valley Film Festival Short Film Bursary Award, Best Screenplay at Waterford International Film Festival and Virgin Media Discovers.
She is the creator of dark comedy TV Series ‘Surviving 22′ which is in active development with Screen Ireland and Atomic 80 Productions.
Katie is drawn to edgy, bold and quirky stories, those that explore and shine a light on societal issues in a humorous or unconventional way.
